Halloween Lobby, Curse levels and new objectives

SpellDivenewchangedbalancefixed

The Lobby is dressed up for Halloween. Curses and Blessings now have levels, and harder Curses give more rewards. Four new objectives!

Happy Halloween! A giant pumpkin has moved into the Lobby, objectives got harder and reward more, and new players jump straight into their first run.

New

  • Halloween Lobby. A giant pumpkin has moved in the Crystal’s place along with a lot more decorations until November 30.
  • Curse and Blessing levels. Every Curse and Blessing now has three levels: I, II and III. Higher levels are stronger. Rarer objectives roll more levels, and Rare objectives can now roll a Blessing too.
  • Harder Curses - Better Rewards. Each Curse level adds 25% to an Essence Bundle. Other rewards, like a Guaranteed Epic Pick, add Essence instead: 50 a level on Rare, 100 on Epic and 150 on Mythic. Each Curse level also adds 25% to the Essence an objective puts in the Boss Chest.
  • Nine new modifiers.
    • New Curses: Concentration shrinks enemies but gives them more health. Shielded gives enemies shields that block hits. Splitters splits slain enemies into smaller copies. Night darkens the arena. Reverse Rainbow makes XP orbs run away from you.
    • New Blessings: Nitro cuts your dash cooldown. Lucky Pick raises the rarity of your level-up cards. Chain Reaction makes slain enemies explode. Giant Wizards makes your wizard and your spells bigger.
  • Three new objectives on every map.
    • Glowbug Round Up. Glowbugs roll away when you get close. Run behind them and herd them into the pen.
    • Slime King. Hit the Slime King and he splits into smaller slimes. Pop every slime before time runs out.
    • Crack the Geode. Break a giant geode. Every quarter you break bursts into XP and Essence and lets out an elite.
  • Feed the Mushroom King. Mushroom Mire gets its own objective. Enemies drop food. Carry it to the King. Each time he fills up, his multiplier goes up. When time runs out, he drops XP and Essence for the whole party.
  • SKIP TUTORIAL. Already know how to play? Open the pause menu in the tutorial run and press SKIP TUTORIAL. You still get the tutorial’s rewards: 150 Essence, a class level and a Common Run Chest.
  • Pumpkin Patch is coming soon. Find its island and the Harvest King in the Lobby. We’re almost done with the map just fixing a few things!

Changed

  • Your first join. New players now go straight into the tutorial run, and back in the lobby a quick tour.
  • Curse and Blessing cards show exact numbers now, like “Enemies move 75% faster.”
  • Cone spells now grow longer with size cards.
  • Orbit spells. Frozen Orbit, Medusa Crown and Fish Mines now circle wider as their orbs grow.
  • Fast projectiles now hit small enemies instead of flying past them.
  • Dash no longer cuts short your safe time after a revive.
  • Sky Rail. You keep your full speed when you jump off the rail. Your pet now flies next to you.

Balance

  • Curse and Blessing strength. Level I works like the old version. Levels II and III are stronger. For example, Swift makes enemies 75%, 105% or 130% faster.
  • Curse and Blessing levels by rarity.
    • Uncommon: 1–2 Blessing levels (was 1 Blessing).
    • Rare: 1–2 Curse levels and up to 1 Blessing level (was 1 Curse).
    • Epic: 2–3 Curse levels and 1–3 Blessing levels (was 1 of each).
    • Mythic: 3–4 Curse levels and 2–4 Blessing levels, Midas Touch included (was 2 Curses and Midas Touch).

Fixed

  • The Restore the Relics ring spins smoothly instead of snapping back.
  • The first Boss Chest of a run no longer opens grey.
  • Cutscenes no longer show black bars.
  • Closing SPELLS no longer turns your camera.
  • Hall of Legends statues no longer sink into their stands.
  • The chest opening title now sits at the top of the screen, so cards no longer cover it on phones.
  • Fill the Cauldrons always finishes when every pot is full.
  • Objective progress only shows 100% when it’s done.
  • On phones, dimmed screens now cover the notch.
